Many times, these are the only books that some students can truly call their own. WWPNA has made a donation every year for the past 8 years. The following plea is from the INC drive to raise the funds for these books: We are still faced with a major shortfall in funding this year’s project. We need the help of all who can give to help make up that shortfall. Please consider us if you have not all ready done so. Donations can be sent to Dollar Dictionary Drive, P.O. Xcel Energy offers rebates, energy efficiency workshops ************************** River South (RISO) Greenway Master Plan Public Outreach Meeting Wednesday, September 9, 2009 (Directions from Santa Fe Drive and Evans interchange: Go west on Evans to South Huron Street. Turn right on South Huron. South Huron dead-ends at West Jewell/Overland Golf Course.) The public is invited to hear about general planning concepts being envisioned for the RISO Greenway Master Plan area and to seek public input. The objective of the River South Greenway Master Plan is to generate a park, recreation and open space plan that sets a vision for the South Platte River and creates development, financial and regulatory guidelines for parkland along the River between 20th Street to the Denver-Englewood/Sheridan city limits on the south. His memorial will be on Thursday, 27th of August at 4:30 pm at Alamo Placita Park, Ogden Street at 3rd Av. ************************** The September WWPNA Board meeting will be held at it's regular time on Tuesday, September 1st starting at 6:30PM. Denver's Old House Society Fall Old House Fair - 9/12 ************************** Join the Washington Street Community Center (WSCC) at their annual Community Barbecue on Saturday, August 22nd, 11am to 3pm, at 809 South Washington Street. A small donation of $5 will get you a bratwurst, hot dog, or burger, with chips, a drink and dessert. Also, check out the Neighborhood Resource Fair and learn about Registered Neighborhood Organizations, crime prevention, churches, elder care, nearby opportunities for music and art, and more. Visitors to the booths will receive a special card punched for drawings with great prizes from local businesses. Winners need not be present. Funds raised will go to the Washington Street Community Center, serving the community over 40 years.
