Message from the Association


October General Meeting - Wednesday, October 22, 7-9PM at DSST Byers, 150 S. Pearl St.

WWPNA will be discussing three important topics that will shape the neighbor-hood for years to come; The opening of Denver School of Science and Technology (DSST) at Byers Jr. High, the Washington Park Emergency Rule, and the planned changes to Logan Street.

DSST Byers: Byers Jr. High is open once again! Nick Amrhein and DPS representatives, will discuss the school’s opening, its future, and discuss the impact on area traffic and parking.

Washington Park: Our second presentation is an update on the “Emergency Rule, Active Recreation Restrictions and Permit Requirements for Washington Park”, put in place this past spring by the Department of Parks and Recreation. David Matthews, the WWPNA Parks ad-hoc committee chair will present the results of the program and discuss the next steps.

You’ve probably already received literature on the West Washington Park re-zoning plan from us and Councilman Nevitt’s office. Please come to the official Community Planning and Development (CPD) public meeting of the plan. Even if you have already expressed your support and gotten your questions answered, it’s important that we have a strong show of neighborhood support for this plan.
