2. The Future of Denver Recreation Centers may be in your hands
**********************

The National Civic League is conducting community outreach meetings with Denver Parks and Recreation that will offer the opportunity for residents to provide input into the development of a long term strategic plan addressing the future of our recreation centers. This effort is an attempt to determine the priorities of Denver residents for spending our limited dollars to provide the recreation center services that best serve our needs and desires.

Decisions will be made in the following four categories:
- Value for your tax dollar
- Recreation Center programs
- Location of Recreation Centers
- Recreation Center Fees

Go to denvergov.org/recreation to read the "Community Outreach Presentation" and add your comments in the suggestion box section. A schedule of meetings is on the web site. Input from all age groups is encouraged. At this point, there are no special meetings scheduled to get input from youth.

4. Broadway Cop Shop during the DNC
**********************

The Broadway COP Shop, 1 Broadway, will be open for extended hours during the DNC. Denver Police Department's District 4 will be assigning many of its officers to work at the convention leaving fewer officers to respond to lower priority reports such as car break-ins, minor traffic accidents, petty crimes, nuisance reports, etc.

We are urging District 4 citizens to come into the neighborhood COP Shops to get help with these problems and to file reports. If you do need an officer's assistance, we can contact one for you. Our phone number is 720-865-2206.

Operating hours will be 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM on Sunday, August 24 through Friday, August 29, and 11:00 TO 5:00 on Saturday, August 30.
