4. News from FANS (Friends and Neighbors of Washington Park)
**********************

Tuesday, October 7th at the monthly meeting of the FANS, Ruth Muaryama and Pam Schooley, landscape architects with the Denver Parks and Recreation Department, will attend and discuss proposed projects/improvements for Washington Park. The FAN meetings are held at the Bathhouse/VOC from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and open to interested friends and neighbors of the park.

Our migratory ducks and geese are back and mixing with our domestic ducks and geese. This is a time to remember not to feed them bread or people food as it can be very detrimental to their health. You may see volunteers from the wild bird rehabilitation center feeding the domestic water fowl cracked corn when food sources are scarce. It is important to remember that some of these birds cannot fly and it is very important to keep your dog on-leash. Please don’t let them chase the birds. FANS will host a presentation by the wild bird rehabilitation center on birds in Washington Park on Wednesday, November 12th at the VOC Bathhouse from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00p.m. Everyone is welcome.
