SocialVolunteers needed for Washington Park projects in MayThe Committee for Washington Park is seeking volunteers to help the park crews plant flowers in the Downing Street gardens Saturday, May 20th and Saturday May 27th. We will begin at 7:00 a.m. and go till 10 a.m. but any time you can come and help is great. Bring gloves, water, sun screen and a trowel. It starts at 4:00 p.m. but come when you can. Anything we can do to help out during this busy season is greatly appreciated. The crunch is on for the park maintenance crew and they have all they can do to stay ahead of the weeds, grass, and general maintenance. Independence Day Celebration & PicnicJul 4 2006 - 11:30am Jul 4 2006 - 2:00pm Rain or shine at the Boathouse on Smith Lake in Washington Park. This fourth annual event, in partnership with Washington Park East N.A. features the Denver Municipal Band's Brass Quintet, visits from the Denver Fire Department, the mounted police, a bicycle parade and prizes, face painting and more! Bring your own picnic and blanket. Ice cream and beverages will be provided. Come join us in celebrating Earth Week and support our park. What: We will be doing touch up painting of the Boathouse and spring cleaning around the Recreation Center and Smith Lake When: Sunday, April 23rd Time: 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Where: Meet at the Boathouse What to Bring : Where appropriate clothing and bring gloves.
