5th Annual Neighborhood History & Garden Walk

Saturday, September 12th, 2026 | 10am - 4pm | Northwest Corner of Pennsylvania St and Virginia Ave

  • Free! Self-guided! No tickets needed! Maps and guide provided, online and printed!

  • Toys and treats for your pups while supplies last. Everyone is welcome!

  • Explore our community's history through outdoor displays at homes and businesses. View historical photos, drawings, documents, and newspaper articles, and read the narratives and stories of former residents.

  • Learn how neighbors are transforming their yards with hardy native, pollinator, heirloom, and waterwise plants and supporting wildlife healthwhile reducing their water bills and the use of toxic chemicals.

  • Colorado Master Gardeners from the CSU Denver Extension Horticulture Program will be onsite to answer questions and share advice.

  • The Washington Park Pollinator Corridor will distribute free packets of native wildflower seeds and sign up participants in their program.

  • Local history enthusiasts will be on hand with research advice and anecdotes about the history of the community.

  • Enjoy fun activities like a to-scale solar system walk and a demonstration of solar cookers (weather permitting).

  • Help launch the 2027 First Annual Tree Walk. Learn if your trees are candidates; help spread the word.
